I’m joining Anne of the blog In Residence for her monthly Currently link up. I always enjoy doing these posts; they feel like a great way to summarize what I’m up to right now, and I love the consistency of doing them. It’s nice that the prompts are different each month too.

reading: a number of books this month. This weekend I’m participating in #24in48, a twice-yearly book reading extravaganza where you attempt to read for 24 of 48 hours. As of this writing I’m at just about 2 and a half hours. I would be thrilled if I hit 10 hours or even 8. It’s never been about the specific number for me but rather using it as a good excuse to sit down and read more than one book in a weekend. This morning I finished reading The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary and really enjoyed it.

enjoying: all the books I’m reading! I am 15 books behind my Goodreads goal but determined to not let it bother me. Somehow I’m convinced I will catch up before the end of the year. Let’s chat again in October and see if I still feel that way.

finding: all sorts of things at Goodwill. I have been looking for a NASA t-shirt for months, and I found a perfect one last weekend for just $3. The victory was made even sweeter by the fact that at one thrift store just before, I’d found and then set back down one for $15. I also found some perfect rose gold Birkenstock-lookalikes at Nordstrom Rack earlier this week.

saving: my energy for people and situation that feel reciprocal to me. I’ve given a lot of my energy to things that just aren’t going to change, and I’ve recently decided that you can’t change people once and for all. Sounds very cryptic, but I’ve made a decision to save that emotional energy for the stuff that feels good.

tasting: garlic cheesy bread that my roommate brought home from work. frankly I first thought this prompt said “testing” and I wrote and then deleted a whole thing about setting boundaries! Misread that one entirely.

Next month we’ll be talking about what we’re orderingwatchingcookingwondering, and savoring. Check out my past Currently posts here.
