“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”

Ellie Harte is a 25-year-old writer living in Los Angeles. She got the idea for the title ‘The Second Page’ from the above quote during study abroad, and she thought it exceedingly clever since she loves both books and traveling. It’s been a few years since then, and the title’s stuck around.

Born and raised in Boston, she moved to California in April 2017 with a one-way plane ticket, no job or concrete connections to get one, and the persistent belief that she would make it work. She did in fact make it work, and now she works in nonprofit communications and takes way too many photos of palm trees. Yes, Los Angeles is great and very expensive; no she doesn’t see celebrities every day – except for the time Victoria Beckham cut in front of her at Salt & Straw. She carries her bullet journal everywhere she goes and attends way too many concerts. In her spare time, she trains for half marathons, reads, and sings (loudly and poorly) to boyband hits.

She writes on this site about books she’s read, races she’s run, the trials + triumphs of being 25, mental health, places she’s visited, and other topics that catch her fancy.

She is currently working on her first novel, about a college graduate sent on an unexpected expedition to Europe after the death of her estranged grandmother.
