Linking up with Anne of the blog In Residence for my monthly Currently post. If you’ve been reading for any length of time at all, you know this one; it’s the blog post I seem to get written more than any other. Something about this format is my favorite.
Ordering | My life a bit more! I probably right this every month but things feel a little crazy and I’m tying to get my life back in order a bit. I feel like I used to have much more discipline than I do and I want it back! I think part of it is that my priorities have shifted and I am trying to do things differently, which is good, but I also miss feeling like I was accomplishing a lot of my goals.
Watching | Now that The Bachelorette is over, I’m not watching anything on television! I was considering watching Bachelor in Paradise for the first time but I think I’ve decided to take the two hours a week I was watching The Bachelorette and devote it to writing instead. I’m interested in the mess that is Paradise, but it’s four hours a week and I don’t think I have time for that. Over the weekend I was watching the Women’s Soccer game in the photo above; check out my post on that here. It was so fun.
Cooking | More at home! A few months ago I fell out of the habit of doing meal prep, which was both good and bad. Good because it meant I got to try new things and wasn’t committed to the same thing all week, but bad because it often left me without a plan each day. I’ve recommitted myself to cooking at home and pre-planning my meals if only in my head. Saving money and making better choices at the same time.
Wondering | How our political environment got this way. It breaks my heart that we’re living in a place where there were three mass shootings in a week. I feel like there’s always a fear in the back of my mind, like I’m walking around wondering when it’s going to be my turn. It’s heartbreaking. We’ve also become so desensitized to it. It absolutely cannot continue.
Savoring | Summertime! Granted, I live in Los Angeles, so the weather is pretty good year round, but there’s something about the summertime that feels carefree. It’s light out long after I get home from work, people are on vacation much more, and overall things feel oddly easier. So I’m enjoying it while it’s here!
On September 4 I’ll be back with the next Currently installment to talk about what I’m making, taking, discovering, consuming, and saving! Check out past Currently posts here.
