June 2019 Books

Just one book for June’s post! With everything going on (#1000wordsofsummer, doing a lot of writing, being a human, traveling) I only finished one book. That book was Star-Crossed by Minnie Darke.

Justine gets a job transcribing horoscopes for a magazine, and starts messing with the horoscope of her crush and childhood sweetheart, Nick, who believes in astrology wholeheartedly. Of course nothing goes as planned, and it turns out other people are making their life decisions by the stars too.

This was good and interesting but I also found myself wanting it to be over – but I found that I couldn’t put it down because I wanted to know what happened. Sort of a weird conundrum. Make of that what you will!

This book spans over a year, and would be great for people who really like astrology or quirky novels set in Australia. My one real complaint is that there was not a lot of Pisces representation!
